A Goldmedia study commissioned by Germany's GEMA and France's SACEM projects the generative AI music market will exceed $3 billion by 2028.
Without creators sharing in that revenue, the study puts roughly €950 million of copyright royalties at risk in Germany and France alone by 2028.
On the strength of the study, GEMA published a first licensing model intended to let creators share in AI providers' revenues.
